About the Artist

Christina Alford is an installation artist based in Raleigh, North Carolina whose work explores the tension between domestic intimacy and the large-scale technological systems that frame contemporary life. Drawing from her background in arts administration, museum environments, and immersive storytelling, she builds reflective architectural spaces that overlay ordinary interiors with ghostlike temporal narratives.

Alford holds an M.A. in Arts Administration from the Savannah College of Art and Design and a B.S. in Creative Writing and Art History from Florida State University. Her current project, Room for You, uses time-based projection, reflection, and domestic architecture to examine memory, community, and the quiet encroachment of infrastructure on everyday experience.

Statement of Practice

I create installations that use familiar domestic architecture—living rooms, porches, windows—to surface emotional memory and reveal the systems that quietly shape contemporary life. My work often blends built environments, light, reflection, and time-based imagery to create spaces of contemplation, dissonance, and quiet immersion.
